It starts with our homemade apple spice cake made with Pink Lady, Granny Smith and Gala apples mixed right into the batter. After making a large hole in the center of each cupcake, we rim it with the buttercream and dip them in par-baked Dutch apple pie crumbles. We then pipe each cupcake with our signature Dutch apple pie filling. 🥧 Our filling is made by caramelizing that combination of apples with sugars and spices, then laying them out on a sheet and baking them before cooling and pulsing them into the consistency they are. To top them off, we add large dollops of our fresh Vanilla bean Swiss buttercream, drizzle them with Ghirardelli salted caramel and finish them off with a freshly baked heart shaped pie crust piece and apple slice.
